As we lead into our first public gig of the year we wanted to share the news that we have had a line-up change. Our sax player Chris is taking a well deserved break from band life and all the load-ins, load-outs, long journeys and wedding cake (maybe not that last one).

I say break because while there are no plans for his return in the foreseeable future, we will no doubt be getting back together for a reunion when we are in our 50’s or 60’s at which point some of the songs we play will be 100 years old!

It is onwards for The Turnarounds as a 4-piece for now and an open mind to what the future may bring, starting with our gig at The Woods in Chapel Allerton on 21st March. We hope to see you there.

We do want to take this opportunity to say that playing alongside Chris for nearly a decade has been awesome. The oohs and the ahhs and the occasional howls of his vocals were always sublime, and we still hear them as we continue to play these songs. He will mind me saying that you can never have enough saxophone in any song, but when it is played the way Chris does it, some is amazing, but more is better!

Simply put, music is a language he speaks fluently and to hear him do his thing so many times has been pretty special indeed.

Thanks Daddy!!!
