Festivals and outside jaunts…Posted by Chris Hornby on June 27, 2014 Our Blog | | No comments
It’s the festival season, and some of you might have your wellies on, or at least be planning to slide them on this year.
We’ve done a fair few gigs in the outside world (and we have one coming up on the 19th of July for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in Castleford too, but it’s sold out, sorry!)
The most enriching outside gig experience we’ve had was at the 2013 Yorkshire Air Ambulance gig – loads of people, massively loud speakers, on-stage sound was brilliant, loads of good equipment, some children danced, some cried, we had hotdogs, it was like a mini festival….
Probably the most difficult (but still very enjoyable!) outside gig was at Eccup for bonfire night… unheated marquee, only mud underfoot, pitch black outside the main tent, temperature touching 0 degrees… anyone who’s familiar with musical instruments knows that nothing reacts well to cold, especially saxophones which can detune quite a lot! Regardless we still had everyone up dancing and we had a right laugh.
If you’re heading to a fesival this year, have a great time, good luck with the toilets….
